I'd pickleball just a stupid version of badminton? Or tennis? That's what it looks like.

I really thought it was something my gym teacher invented to make a game out of whatever equipment she has on hand. It looked like ping pong paddles, a whiffle ball, and some lowered volleyball nets just so we could play something inside when it rained....even though she knew all we really wanted were those rad ass 4-wheeled scooters of finger crushing.
It's basically a cross between tennis and ping pong. The court is smaller, you play with a whiffle-ball type ball and hard paddle. There's a spot right by the net called the "kitchen" where you can't stand in while you volley.
It's honestly just a fun game. It's easier to pick up than tennis, and it's more fun to play doubles. It's also a little less physically taxing, it's a really nice level of activity. Give it a shot sometime.
IMO it's tennis for Boomers who can't hack tennis anymore.
Call it whatever you want, it's just an enjoyable new sport that a lot of people like. I'll never get why people feel superior about not liking something that other people like.
We've installed 4 pickleball courts in backyards in the past couple of years. One of them is the cover picture on a news article about how obnoxiously loud it gets in neighborhoods.
Fuck pickleball. Shits a cult.
Ah Indoor climbing, a classic outdoor sport.
Does off course golf include disc golf? It has absolutely blown up the last few years
I wonder what kind of growth regular football is at? Funny that it's the most popular sport in the US by far but I know very few kids that play it. Flag football coming in at 25 is also surprising based on how much that's being pushed in the last 5 years.
I was wondering the same, id like to see Football shrinking if anything. Maybe even enough so that many schools stop funding it so damn much over other things like arts and sciences
Kids these days don’t even try to go ‘professionally kayaking’ anymore
Winter Fat Biking eh?
It's a little warm for that lately
It's being pushed by investors most likely.
Talked to a couple, year or two ago, who were really into it and they were like "even the so and so NBA star has invested in it" i was half listening as it all sounded like garbage, but I think the guy said it was LeBron? Not 100% sure. So definitely sounds like a marketing ploy to milk this garbage.
Cardio tennis sounds awful but also like just another aerobics fad like tae bo or step.
