8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

I don't know if we can still call the river clean. But I disagree that it's sunk cost fallacy.
This river has been polluted for centuries and it's no doubt that it requires considerable efforts and resources to make it safe to swim in on a regular basis.
But the effort is not in vein! And the important attention the Olympics brought on the subject of water quality to the public is very important too! More people realize they deserve clean rivers and we should do what it takes to get it !
It is cleaner than Ganges
So is my ass. I still don’t think Olympians should be swimming in my toilet, though.

i live in florida. i doubt my town treats its sewage.

The actual Olympic swimmers who have competitions coming up, with whatever bugs they pick up in that river? That is crazy.
They're already spreading COVID-19 around so why not pick up more diseases? They're top athletes with superior health, should be able to handle anything!
