Rules
AI Art: While we appreciate AI generated art, there are more appropriate communities to post that type of art to. Please keep posts to non-AI generated art only. This rule includes AI art that was then manually manipulated (e.g. drawing on top of something generated by AI).
Nudity: Nudity is and has always been a part of art, but it may be something that some users don't wish to see or cannot view in certain circumstances (e.g. at work). If your work contains nudity, please mark it as NSFW. Work that contains nudity that is not marked as NSFW will be taken down. As long as the NSFW tag is used, we welcome nude subject matter.
Spam: Please do not spam this community. Self promotion is fine if you just want people to be aware of your work, but blatant attempts at spam will result in the past being removed and possibly a ban. If you aren't sure if what you are posting is spam, please contact the moderator first.
Conduct: Be nice, and don't be a jerk. Constructive criticism is OK, but don't be mean. Encouragement is always welcomed.
Lol fair enough. Indian ink, Windsor & Newton, specifically.
I've only used 2 & 3 before, so I actually like going way smaller than that, but 4/0 is damn small.
I got this tiny guy b/c it's pure kilinsky and was on mega clearance at my local art store for something like ten bucks so I snagged it. Hopefully I'll find a happy medium next time.
btw I checked out your Pixelfed, but there's nothing :(
It was a joke, I was just joshing you. I wasn't serious and my b if it came off like it. It's actually funny, becuase I thought it might be W&N because of the cleanness of the ink. I love that freakin' brand! Idk what Pixelfed is but my b =
But ink, ink is 10/10 my favorite medium. And micro-brushes are my favorite tool. My gf is super into the larger stuff, but I think finer details are lovely and good for my head (because of the repetative nature of the hand motions). But I lost a lot of motor control, which is why I ended up stopping doing the fine stuff unless it's a really solid day. I tend to work a sloppy traditional or a slower digital nowadays. But the pieces I work tend to be personal takes on things I think about or enjoy (like reads) or appreciation pieces for the people I love. But either way creating = life. I never feel better than when I am making something (in any capacity).
It's funny you don't know what Pixelfed is. Your username is cashmaggot@pixelfed.social lol. You have that space to post artwork in the future if you'd like. It's sort of like Instagram, I guess, but non-commercial. Anyways, thanks for sharing, I like talking shop.
Super weird, I use piefed. I never heard about pixel feed until you said anyhting about it. Ah, I had no clue. I'll tell my gal about it, because she loves insta and maybe she'll get into it? Oh yeah, me too. You got me wanting to make some mucky ink monsters =)
Looks great
