He might have run in 4 years. But assuming he doesn't want to run against an incumbent, he'll have to wait 8.

PR already cashed out, but there are others waiting for your scenario

I think he is/was trying to bide his time.

Perhaps, but I'd respect him more if he grew a backbone and spoke out against Trump.

Anyone who hasn't condemned trump will never get my vote. EVER

I'm not sure I would vote for them but I was curious as to who in the Republican party opposes him and found this:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Republicans_who_oppose_the_Donald_Trump_2024_presidential_campaign

As long as that list is, it's not long enough.

That is a pretty short list at the federal level. Traitors to our country, every single Republican legislator not on that list.

Just any Repub ever. Their party will not hold Donald accountable and are actively shielding him from justice. Their policies are all bigotry, deliberately ignoring objective reality, and shoveling money over to the wealthy.

Romney, and Liz Cheney seem okay. McCain was single-handedly responsible for blocking the GOP from being able to repeal the ACA when Trump was in office. He's gone now though, and so are most of the Republicans who are like he was.

More likely he was timing his Biden.
