Eastern Equine Encephalitis. The towns are Douglas, Oxford, Sutton, and Webster in Worcester county, near the state's borders with Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Well shit, of course I'm in the effected county. Luckily not my town yet but guess I'll have to keep an eye on this.

Stay safe, fellow Massholes

Time to build a citronella, peppermint, cedar, lemongrass, lavender, catnip, and patchouli scented "moat" around your house. Not a real moat, stagnant water does the exact opposite.

Also note, it's the scent of some of these like citronella, not the plant itself they don't like. Just planting them won't do anything.

Funny that you think I can afford a house in Massachusetts right now 😂

Good advice I will try to remember for when I do have one, however

Who knows, maybe you had 14 roommates and lived under the staircase like Harry Potter.

Conclusion: With the projected impact of climate change on mosquito populations, it is expected that the risk of EEEV could change resulting in higher disease burden or spread into previously unaffected areas.

Didn't I see a post just recently about some people "releasing bugs" somewhere? I wonder if they're related...

Mealworm beetles placed in breakfast buffet of Indiana DNC delegation at downtown Chicago hotel. Bad taste prank, but not dangerous.
