The Lemmy place to discuss veganism.

Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.

farm transparency are heroes. Australian farming is horrific and their work to expose it is fantastic.

Unfortunately oz is a police state and our rights to a transparent society evaporated in the racist fear following 11/9/01 so here we are.

Recently Australia prosecuted a whisteblower who had evidence of war crimes performed by troops deployed in Afghanistan. So it's good to know that the court system isn't speciest in suppressing information at least.

The usa is the antisocial country talking like yoda and insisting they're the best. Meanwhile everyone else avoids them because they smell of piss and have weird suspicious blood stains on them.

A creature of culture, I see.

For a computer or a filing cabinet sure.

All things are classifiable as a computer or a filing cabinet if you try hard enough. :)

There was a time even just writing about this made a big change in society. There is no way people are going to come up against factory farming until they are confronted with it like any other atrocity people choose to ignore. It is so blatant that the authorities try to make this illegal and hide where peoples food comes from.
