I'm trying to find decent sneakers that would last at least 3 years, preferably more, but that are not genocidal brands. It would be awesome if they didn't support slave labor and animal cruelty as well.

Internet doesn't provide help. https://huffsports.com/which-sports-brands-support-palestine/ Adidas? Nike? Puma?! Aren't those brands which actually support State of occupated Palestine called Israel?

Edit: Checked out some ethical sustainable brands in EU. Expensive, so I'll see if I want to spend that amount of money on sneakers, but, having Miret/Earthbound ones I bought on a really good discount, seems that's a good long-term sustainable eco ethical investment.

your link is giving me strong AI hallucination vibes.

Puma is under targeted BDS boycott so do not buy them.

Seems like Adidas caved and might be ok at least as far as major sneaker brands go (obviously they are all unethical in many other ways).

Or some weir parallel universe shit, I know.

Fuck Adidas.

Eventually, they'll all be "pro-Palestine" and still use cheap slavery labor.

Adidas took Bella Hadid off their advertisements for the olympics because isntrealis got mad a Palestinian woman was the face of them.

Do not buy adidas!

Pretty sure no company "supports" Palestine nor Israel but Antas are very popular and supposedly really nice. I've never worn or touched a pair myself though

Oh, cool! Tnx!

Edit: Not cool. China is exploiting Uyghurs for this. So, off the list.

Seeing how this account is 13 days old you might want to read this thread on China.

Qiao Collective also has a great article on Xinjiang specifically

Unless Anta is particularly evil for a shoe company or something, the only thing hurting Uyghurs right now are the western sanctions on Xinjiang.

China is most certainly not exploiting Uyghur labor in any sense. Try to find actually sourced information for that before spreading this nonsense

Source for the Uyghur exploitation? I googled it and found some articles that seem to think Jinjiang City and the Xinjiang Province were the same place.

Yeah i saw this website too, the first giveaway that it was cracker shit was using the blue jumpsuit photo, stating the headquarters were in "Xingjiang" when it's actually in Jinjiang, and misspelling of Xinjiang.

You should always be looking at these websites with a critical eye. There's not a single citation, multiple errors. If, on the rare occasion that it is sourced, follow the sources and see where the claims are coming from.

In my defense, I was at work and did a quick search of the brand. 😅

I saw someone commented with some extra info on Uyghurs, China and other side of the story, so I will check it out.

I don't think any major brands actively support Palestine.

[–] Mantikora@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

It doesn't have to be major. I have one sneakers, Miret, they're eco, ethical and awesome, but they're not sports type of sneakers and I need sport sneakers.
