I would love to know what substance they think he won on. Unless they mean the racism. They uh, they probably mean the racism, right?

I mean for me, just hearing him say he has "concepts of a plan" for the US healthcare system was enough for me. Get that ~~monorail~~ bill installed NOW.

Since Trump repeatedly came back to racism throughout the debate regardless of context, they're definitely talking about the racism.

MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of... What was I talking about?

He had a concept of a substance

[–] KrankyKong@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

And it's the best substance don't you worry

Lots of people are saying it

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 79 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Honestly that's the minority on /r/conservative right now. Most are saying he fucked up and he's fucking up by refusing the next debate. Many are even saying it's over.

Honestly, this is the most heartening thing I've read about US politics in recent years. (PS. Am not American, and not in America)

I saw those replies. Reality has set in. But I think they'll go back to drinking the koolaid unfortunately.

That whole sub works on cycles - news breaks, there's an immediate negative reaction towards trump and a couple of days later the sub finds some way to spin the whole thing.

It's fun watching them get told how to think in real time, though I'm not sure if it's done big conspiracy with some russian telling them how to think or just a collective coping mechanism.

Gosh, I really hope that sense of defeat is everywhere.

He didn't necessarily win on substance, but he sure spoke like he took some beforehand.

[–] Zozano@lemy.lol 51 points 5 days ago

I know there are dumb cunts voting for him because they like him "owning the left", but any time I see it when they're so obviously wrong, I think it must be the Russians at it again.

To be fair, the republicans do have a lot of policies—christofascist policies—but they try to maintain deniability for the main stream while winking at their cult. It’s a tough balancing act

Well, yeah, we all vote based on feelings. Some feelings based on things that verifiably happened in the real world, and some feelings based on ridiculous bullshit we dreamed up.

Guess which side has more of the second kind of feelings.

I've never seen an original thought from a con. Every meme, every joke, every quote is just a reconfiguration of something they heard a more clever person say.

American Liberals: forced to vote for a neocon regime that is arming a genocide in order to avoid fascist crackdown at home

American Liberals: "It is so awesome how we're winning now"

[–] pupbiru@aussie.zone 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

it is possible for people to be simultaneously happy about furthering the aversion of fascism, racism, homophobia and sexism whilst also being unhappy that you don’t get more, better choices
