When I was growing up in the 2010s, my dad was a computer whiz. I used to think he was magic. I remember I would ask him about a game, or a movie I really wanted to watch, and the very next day he would suprise me with it!

I remember a particular time where I really wanted to watch How to Train your Dragon. I showed him the trailer, and he said he would get it for me.

After sending me to bed, he would be up at the family computer all night, clacking away at the ol' keyboard that I could literally hear from my room. It wasn't annoying though, it was actually quite comforting if that makes sense?

Coming back from school the next day, voilà! He already had the movie set up for me, popcorn included! I was so excited, I didn't expect it to be so quick! I have to say that is one of my coolest memories of him.

Fast forward to today, and here we are. Hes long passed. Yet you guys remain. You guys, with your black magic find seemingly endless ways to crack things for the benefit of others less fortunate. It's stupid, but I see my dad in all of you. I like to think he smiles down upon me whenever I stream/download something for free.

I'm sorry if this post breaks the rules. I guess I made it as some kind of love letter to all the pirates out there. You guys deserve praise. No matter the race, politics, etc you guys all seem to unite under the concept of free media.

I love you guys. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
