All about dogs - dog breeds, dog training and behavior, news affecting dog owners or handlers, puppy pics, etc.

Rules (Will be refined later on).

  1. Don't be a dick. This should cover most things, just keep in mind that everyone started somewhere and try to be helpful rather than rude or judgmental.

  2. No personal attacks based on training style or tools.
Discussion of balanced training including proper use of aversives is allowed here.

  3. All breeds and mixes are welcome. You can criticize backyard breeding practices but don't pile on people because they own a specific breed or prefer purebreds or mixed breeds.

  4. Do not support backyard breeders or puppy mills. Please do not link to or suggest buying from high volume breeders or those with an obvious lack of standards and testing.

  5. Do not help or support fake service animals. Please do not encourage people to buy fake service dog vest or ESA letters to get around rental or other restrictions & do not give advice on how to misrepresent a dog as a service or support animal.

I remember having to get up early once and making myself a big mug of coffee... I sat on the sofa, put the TV on, drank some of my coffee... then fell asleep with it cradled in my lap.

It really doesn't help as much as a shower does.

getting the right amount of sleep is most helpful. caffeine can take the edge off, but it can't make you not-tired.

I can sleep when I'm dead, which will be much sooner than it should be because I'm an exhausted wreck of a person running on fumes and despair.

I regularly take naps after a cup (or three) of coffee, but I always blame that on adhd lol

Depends, I'm super sensitive to caffeine, and I have adhd.

I stopped drinking caffeine earlier this year.

My anxiety melted away. Suddenly I wasn’t avoiding life any more. I just got my shit done, or at least worked consistently on it without hesitation.

Then I got in a car accident (very minor; nobody hurt) for the first time in 25 years of driving.

So I started drinking caffeine again. I realized that maybe me at my best is a little anxious. That relaxed and happy isn’t my best self.

When you get prescribed the correct anti anxiety meds, it's like a cheat code that stops anxiety from having an impact, and still allows you to feel an act normally. I took escitalopram(lexapro), and it changed everything. Before: just wanted to be left alone anxiety was so bad Now: I am the foot steps dumb people fear when they dare tread upon ground they don't belong on. I am darkwing duck.
