Back in June, the Pixel 8 and newer phones gained DisplayPort Support and the Google Store is now selling a USB-C to HDMI cable...

That's wonderful but other companies already cover this market and Google's cables are too expensive generally.

Right? I was gonna say, I didn't realize the USB-C to HDMI cable I've been using for, oh a year or two didn't exist and I've just been imagining the connection.

Also google dumped their USB-C DP support for generations for no reason and now all the reasonably priced used ones dont support it. Shame that they always have to make everything worse.

I found a good use while traveling it to hook it up to the TV in your room if it doesn’t support casting. Most (yes I know some hotels lock it down) have a way of getting to the HDMI port and you can watch what you want on it.
