They need a lip on the front
As someone living in an area with earthquakes: hellll no. Definitely needs a lip all the way around the front and something on the sides.
As someone who lives in an area with no earthquakes, my first thought was, "Man, those shelves really need a lip around the edges or something."
As an enjoyer of black pipe decor, this is pretty nice.
I do find it a little overdone nowadays, but this is pretty nice. It really depends on how it's done for me.

i would constantly knock the jars on the ends off
