What is a Tankie?

Basic Rules:

Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.
Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users.
Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.
If you're violating instance rules, you'll typically be warned. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last seven days, but repeat infractions will have longer sentences. You may ask to be unbanned.

Utterly bizarre how they think everyone shares their views.
Almost like they have no knowledge of world history or current politics outside of their circlejerk.
Fuck, the level of fighting you have to do in any country to get even basic policy accepted by ordinary folk, much less radical ideology, is insane. People have their own troubled and difficult lives to go about and generally don't care too much even for political movements that will make their lives better in the long run. That's why being a good citizen is important, and why continuous outreach is so important to the success of anything except conservative ideologies, which benefit from the do-nothing care-nothing attitude.
But that's too much like hard work and not enough like asspats and self-righteousness, so it gets ignored.
I believe it stems from their often rich background. They've got it too easy, they never have to work or struggle to make ends meet, makes them feel guilty (and rightfully so, might I add).
But instead of instituting change, they latch onto a dead ideology as a fashion statement, trying to constantly one-up each other over how virtuous and rebellious they are, without doing any of the hardwork. When they get older, they drop their ideology because it never actually mattered to them.
It's a shame since everyone can agree that rich people are always fucking everyone over. But unfortunately, Tankies are communists in name only, and even then, they're called Tankies by real communists. If I was a communist, and so passionate that I was to "genocide all amerikkkan colonists." I'd move to Cuba or Vietnam, you know, actual communist states. They have cheap visas, love hard-working Westerners, are self-sufficient, and need all the hands they can get.
But no. That means effort. That means putting energy to my beliefs. Instead I will larp because deep down I'm a capitalist in denial that I will make it big and then I can totaaally dismantle the system from the inside. Maybe I've talked to too many of them on a personal level.
