Gday folks,

Has anyone have any luck tracking down a source for surround and or Atmos music? whether it by DVD-A, BD-A, SACD, DTS-CD etc etc. Not looking for concerts here (I have plenty of those) but proper albums specifically mixed in multichannel and spacial formats.

I have pretty much everything I can find on Usenet and public trackers and have backed up all of my physical media but there is a lot out there that I know exists.

I'd almost guarantee someone on SoulSeek has some super weird formats in their folders somewhere.

I'm hunting through there at the moment but so far nothing that I don't already have or have access too.

Yeah, that's kind of the problem with soulseek- obscure servers that have the unusual stuff sometimes aren't online all the time, and there's often so much stuff on there with poor tagging that filtering thru the chaff can be difficult. Still, it's basically the best way to find music these days, so it was worth a shot.

Found a few users with heaps, but a lot of fake amateur algorithm upmixed stuff mixed in with real professional mutlitrack mixes.

Also a lot of Tidal rips, though they are mostly very poor quality upmixes done by engineers who don't know how to use surround properly.

You're doing better than me, I'd like to see your sources. I've been looking for surrounds and reel-to-reels, but I haven't had much luck outside of the ol archive

I've been using Prowlarr and Jacket to do mass searches of public trackers and my Usenet sources for every variation of surround, multichannel, dvd-a, bd-a sacd, dff, dsd, atmos, ac3, dts, 5.1, 7.1, etc etc etc...

I think I have about 70 surround albums so far, excluding concerts that I have a separate collection of.

Redacted is a private tracker, I've seen a bunch of SACD stuff there. You can interview to get in, they have a website to prep for the interview.
