I went to a Rob Zombie concert on the same night as a Taylor Swift concert. This reminds me of the train ride home, except the poor Swifties were visibly uncomfortable.

Dead Kennedy's needs to play more T Swift shows. That'll teach the Swifties to punch out Nazis, and others that need a good kick to the face.

What dare I ask is a "Christian Autumn Girl"?

[–] GrammatonCleric@lemmy.world 46 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I think it has something to do with Pumpkin Spice and UGGS 🤔

[–] smeg@feddit.uk 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Doesn't sound like something that a cleric of the tetragrammaton would allow

[–] GrammatonCleric@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I may or may not have skipped my interval this morning

Can you blame them? Fall is awesome.

[–] agent_flounder@lemmy.one 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Fuck yeah it is. I love PSL, pumpkins, fall leaves, cool weather, harvesting shit, and all that autumnal crap unironically and unapologetically.

[–] dragonflyteaparty@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Right? This is, and always has been, my favorite season. I don't care if people call it "basic".

Autumn or "fall" in the US sucks ass here in the UK. Its cold as shit and very wet.

Why does literally everything have to be a meme

[–] Cryophilia@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Zoomers are in the prime memeing years

Give it some time

[–] agent_flounder@lemmy.one 4 points 1 year ago

I think there's a meme about that

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I mean by the original definition of a meme, its just an idea that spreads and changes. So anything like that IS a meme.

Here is also info on the Christian Girl Autumn by Papa Meat

[–] nostalgicgamerz@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

TLDR; basic bitch

[–] VoilaChihuahua@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Look up "Becky pumpkin spice flannel" and go to images (seriously I did this in DDG). No shade, as I like these things AND somehow managed to find Lemmy gasp, but those search terms will show you what is being referenced.

[–] Liz@midwest.social 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Back in the day, same energy.

[–] VoilaChihuahua@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Goddammit Becky was a good bearperson. And now I have the Tailspin theme song stuck in my head so thank you x2.

[–] irmoz@reddthat.com 29 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I do not understand this whatsoever

Not sure what a Christian autumn girl is, or what they share in common with goth girls...

[–] Knightfox@lemmy.one 29 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (3 children)

The kind of girl that wears a flannel shirt and puffy vest with leggings and leather riding boots. It's a good look, but far too common. There are other variations like a wide brim hat with a cardigan and jeans. Just Google Pumpkin Spice Latte girl.

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 8 points 1 year ago

You know, Han Solo cosplayers.

They are typically Christian but this is the first time I've seen it use with this stereotype

[–] uis@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I mean why not agnostic or atheist?

[–] Knightfox@lemmy.one 7 points 1 year ago

Maybe it's a USA thing, but they typically are insulated conservative people who have disposable income. The clothing style is a stereotype of a specific group of women which just so happens to also be conservative/religious. Women outside of this group might still dress this way, but most that I've met thought that the style was cute, but over used and also didn't like the stereotype that comes with that style.

It's so pronounced a stereotype that you can go to some events and find >50% of the women wearing the same brands of the same clothes with maybe some difference in color selection.

[–] Cryophilia@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They're typically Christian. Context clues, dude

The files are IN the computer

[–] irmoz@reddthat.com 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Okay so... what's this gotta do with goth girls

[–] Knightfox@lemmy.one 13 points 1 year ago

It's playing on a stereotype, but the stereotype is that the two groups are very different but both enjoy Fall. Goth girls, in this stereotype, may be into it for Halloween, spiritual, or pagan stuff. The other group, in the stereotype, enjoy it for cute clothes, Thanksgiving, and pumpkin spice seasoning.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 25 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think it's just a nice way of saying "pumpkin spice latte fans"

[–] Cryophilia@lemmy.world -3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The term used to be "basic bitches" before the PC Police Order-66'd that one.

[–] PsychedSy@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Basic white bitches
