Automatism in the age of the children of Unix.

It's a box of antique photographs. A blade, a girl and a fish. Whatever it means, you're invested.

Can I get a quick run down on these books. Are they considered special or definitive in some way?

K&R C book is still considered to be a good resource to learn C. K&R is also a popular C style guide.

It's a cyberpunk comic themed on open-source stuff.

The character shown in the posted comic is Girl.

Also acceptable: The best, post-apocalyptic, dystopian, esoteric-technology-themed webcomic in the Fediverse featuring anthropomorphized unix-like operating systems.

Looks like chicken scratch with no cool jokes or meaning. Just...why

It's really just BSD propaganda, if you're immune to it, you already won!

His display name is "Linux is for pussies". He's probably a hardcore NetBSD user!

Man I want to go to this book fair! They were my favorite thing during school, going to the little metal rolling things, buying a book or maybe even a scientific kit! So many Encyclopedia Brown books!

I notice a book on dash. I wonder if it’s the dash that is the default shell on Debian. I always had a historical curiosity about the original author of the shell that would become dash, Kenneth Almquist. It’s just such a ubiquitous piece of software and yet there’s basically no information about the person who wrote it. All I’ve ever been able to find is his original Usenet post announcing his Almquist Shell. I think it would be cool if somehow in her world, the techno mage is the one who figures out what happened to Kenneth Almquist, who somehow winds up playing a role in her journey.
