A place to share alternatives to popular online services that can be self-hosted without giving up privacy or locking you into a service you don't control.

Rules:

  1. Be civil: we're here to support and learn from one another. Insults won't be tolerated. Flame wars are frowned upon.

  2. No spam posting.

  3. Posts have to be centered around self-hosting. There are other communities for discussing hardware or home computing. If it's not obvious why your post topic revolves around selfhosting, please include details to make it clear.

  4. Don't duplicate the full text of your blog or github here. Just post the link for folks to click.

  5. Submission headline should match the article title (don’t cherry-pick information from the title to fit your agenda).

Android Tab Manager

View live tab sessions from browsers on an android phone, save them locally as json or sync them to server

Can view old synced tab sessions directly in browser

Uses ADB via WebUSB and works with browsers supporting Chrome DevTools Protocol

React application built fully statically with a small python backend, can be used without backend to only view live and save locally

WebUSB requires site to be served through HTTPS, backend can do both HTTP and HTTPS

Sources and release available at: https://drive.proton.me/urls/F94Z3CF4JM#iivgNHwY9ucp

My question is... why proton drive and not github or codeberg or... literally any VCS?

yeah that's very odd...

GitHub and Codeberg are not Version Control Systems, they are Git platforms

Git is a VCS

I don't like platforms and unnecessary information that are being stored in them or Git, also it is more in the way to be honest

It is not that hard to:

tar -xzf antman-1.0.0.tar.gz
cd antman-1.0.0
git init .
git add -A
git commit -a -m "initial commit"

if anyone wants to use Git, generate me a patch file or send me a link to your fork and I'll handle it fine if you want to contribute back

I'm not going for another arguing here, if you want to check out my previous answers to this question check my profile and find my other threads
