Who is answering these polls though? I suspect it's a lot of old people who have alienated their kids, and have plenty of time to answer their land lines, desperate to chat with someone about anything.

I could be wrong, but when I get these calls and texts asking me who I'll vote for or did I know senator Jeff Merkley worships thr devil and wears pink underwear or whatever, I never answer, I delete em and I suspect most other people do too.

I think election is close as hell. Obviously I am voting for Trump but I think the Democrats screwed themselves by running Kamala.

If they had wanted to win, they would have picked someone who leaned more right and was known.

If Trump wins, the Democrats only have themselves to blame.

and was known

I know, right? Totally unrecognizable and with no history we can go check.

Look at the polls. She wasn't well know and not very liked.

It's funny that many actual leftists are saying they hate Harris because she leans right and if the dems lose, they have only themselves to blame.

This election is gonna be a weird one. Whoever wins will get at least 310 electoral college votes IMHO, but with narrow leads in those battleground states. So things on the electoral map will look way more lopsided than they should.

Not sure why you think the winner will get 310. It could happen but I suspect this will be around the 270 range. Nobody is expecting anyone to wipe the board.

Interesting, that's what a lot of poll-based maps and predictions are showing like RCP's electoral college no tossups map

I think they screwed up not having a primary. Now all the anti-democratic arguments against Trump regarding Jan 6th feel muted.

[–] wintermute_oregon@lemm.ee -1 points 2 weeks ago

A primary would have been good. I think it’s why many people are not overly excited over Harris. Many of my family members are democrats and they are not thrilled about Harris. They felt she was pushed in rather than earning the spot. A primary would change that view.

They’re still voting for her I suspect but they’re not happy about it.

I don't think Trump will win. BUT it would be funny to watch most of Lemmy have a meltdown if he did! lmao

I didn't vote for Harris or Trump tho...

[–] WrenFeathers@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That’s funny, because all of your banned alt accounts did.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemm.ee -2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Actually no. I've ALWAYS said that Harris would win by a landslide. Nice try to paint your narrative though.

That's why I think it's hilarious that you all thought I was trying to alter the election or some shit. Me, a guy on Lemmy. Who said Harris was gonna win anyway. lmao

And my mind hasn't changed. Harris will win the election. By a landslide. Just like I said. On my banned accounts and my not-banned accounts.

And I didn't vote for her, so not my fault! :)
