The mother of Shani Louk, a 22-year-old German national believed to have been kidnapped by Hamas fighters during the militant group's surprise attack on Israel on Saturday, said on Tuesday that her daughter is alive.

Louk, a tattoo artist, was attending the Tribe of Nova music festival in the plains of the Negev Desert near Urim, close to the Gaza Strip, on Saturday when Hamas fighters stormed the event.

Her mother, Ricarda, feared she was dead after seeing a video showing Louk unconscious in a car after being kidnapped by Hamas fighters.

In an appeal shared on social media, she said the family was sent a video "in which I could clearly see our daughter unconscious in the car with the Palestinians and them driving around the Gaza Strip."

While the video doesn't show the woman's face, Louk's family said they were able to identify her by her dreadlocks and tattoos.

German news website Blick reported that her mother said she was in a hospital in Gaza with serious head injuries.

We're also getting news (from videos from CNN) that Hamas was shooting at armed security at the rave and that people got caught in the crossfire. Seems they didn't adopt proper fire discipline rules when firing on hostiles in the presence of civilians, but they're not exactly a highly-trained professional army with pinpoint accurate munitions. Hamas also lacks proper combat training for how to deal with adrenal stress and adrenal dump after all clear hostiles have been eliminated.

So you're telling me that 260 people "got caught in the crossfire"? Also, the video with Shani Louk in the back of a truck, with Hamas and Palestinian terrorists parading besides her mangled body doesn't really support your theory that they simply got caught "in crossfire". Bullets don't break legs. Bullets don't rape.

I forgot that the average Joe in Israel owns a Merkava that they park at their rave. Silly me.

Edit: for anyone looking for proof, look at the recent videos getting shown on CNN. There are clearly armoured vehicles in the background that are present during the fighting and those armoured vehicles clearly feature the classic ball and chain anti-RPG defenses present on the Merkava turret. I don't know about you, but festival security in my country don't get a tank.

I'm fascinated. How can you write so much while adding so little to the conversation? You literally just repeated your first comment.

Military vehicles at the border of a country you're at war with doesn't strike me as abnormal. The video also doesn't make it clear when the military vehicles arrived.

Even if the Israeli military was present before the attack, that doesn't give these terrorists the right to hunt, abuse, rape innocent civilians.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was a one-sided massacre and not a two-sided shootout? The IDF is hiding their tanks and military personnel amongst civilians (which, as established, we have clear video evidence of) and is using them as meat shields.

It's more likely that they just responded to the attack. There are videos out there of police officers trying to return fire. No military present.

Do you understand the concept of responding to an invasion? Hamas terrorists were literally flying in with motorized para gliders. Israel probably detected them hours before they ever touched ground.

Meanwhile, you're literally talking about the girl that, according to her family, is still alive and being treated for head injuries at a Gazan hospital. From the video, it's clear that she is wearing some sort of black bottoms and some sort of black top (and that, while we can't see the front of the top because she is lying face down, the bottoms are clearly on). Moreover, her boots are still on, and if you know anything about clothes you would know that putting on tight shorts is rather challenging over boots. For what it's worth, her top looks like it's seen better days, which may explain why she is being held face-down.

And, get this, you can get your legs into the position she was in without breaking them. Her right foot is pointed outwards and her right leg is deflected in a position that's perfectly achievable without much flexibility. Her left leg is in a perfectly normal position. There's no indication that she was raped or that her leg is broken. Nothing in the video corroborates the claims being made.
