Despite the US constant vilification of China, they seek to have just as much control and surveillance over you. The ruling class would LOVE if they could control a population the way Beijing does. We already live in a surveillance state. We can adress it or let it get worse but both parties allow and encourage these policies.

Leave your phone at home. Ride a bike or walk, don't drive (defeats giar recognition, ANPR and in-car tracker software). ANPR cameras can also be disabled with black spray paint. Wear a hoodie. Use a VPN and an adblocker when you are online. Practice skeet shooting so you can shoot down drones. Also jam them if you can.

I thought you could change your gait pretty easily by putting g something really uncomfortable like a rock in your shoe? maybe that was just Hollywood

An ankle weight is less damaging. I doubt if gait recognition is all that valid anyway.
