Well, you could say it stops unwanted foreign substances from entering.

if you are a heterosexual, or may at any time in the future have penis-in-vagina type sex, you should learn a little bit more about contraception. that is absolutely not how any IUD works.

If you’re a heterosexual, or bisexual, or homosexual, or pansexual, or asexual…

…you should learn how a joke works.

Yes, IUDs are hormonal and don't act as a physical barrier themselves. However, with the hormonal mechanisms, they thicken the cervical mucus, which does serve to block sperm from entering. Perhaps it would be best for you to learn a little bit more about contraception.

IUDs are hormonal

nope

edit: maybe you are thinking of an IUS

I must say, you're really living up to your username.

Mirena, the IUD the original joke is based on, releases levonorgestrel, a progestin, which is a hormone, in the uterus over five years.

I wish more phones had a hardware Killswitch for the mic and cam.

I'm curious, when was the last time you were surreptitiously recorded?

[–] Caboose12000@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Wth he said 5G is non-existent in France. I'm there and constantly using 5G

[–] NightAuthor@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You sure?

My iPhone 11 (no 5G) reports being on 5Ge all the time. The carriers like to pull this bullshit for some reason.

[–] bloubz@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not sure it's the carrier here. You phone needs to decide to connect to a 5G wavelength and protocol. Either it's a display bug from iOS or it's not an iPhone 11 lmao

But for me I'm pretty sure yes. But I just looked at the coverage map and indeed Paris is entirely covered but it's very much more sparse in other places when not around cities
