I would submit the people who are working here don’t actually make $200k and probably burn to a crisp at 6 months, if not sooner. I don’t think there’s a bigger red flag than this guy. Run. Away.

Some people work to live, others live to work. Personally, I enjoy having a life completely separate from my career. I don't know anyone who sits around Sunday afternoon saying, "All right, it's almost MONDAY! Glad I got through the weekend!" And I like sleep, sleep is good.

Monday doesn't bother me. I like what I do, if I didn't, I'd be looking for something else.

Everywhere you go will have it's share of shit to deal with, because people.

Early in my career a boss said "If I have 3 people working for me, I have 9 problems to deal with".

Society is the challenge with work, which is why big companies focus on team building. Us technical types tend to be rather oblivious to it (or downright adversarial), so his leadership made a big impact for me. I'm grateful to that.

I honestly have no idea what point OP is trying to make.

I think the point they’re making is that the insane 80+ hour work weeks talked about in the article are, well, insane. What’s even more insane is if they are working 80+ hours a week and only making $120K-$200K, they’re actually just making $60K-$100K or less in what would be a 40 hour week, with the price of giving up your life and sanity.

Yeah, but when you're working 85 hours a week, you can save on rent because you may as well just sleep at your desk.

If I earned 60k a year while working what is a normal week, I don't even think I would be seeking extra income. That is more money that I can even imagine managing now. If I were male, my spouse could even go without working entierely because my income would be enough!

Funny how archive has preserved the anti-adblock popup.
