It's something Marco Rubio has been pushing for years and he was nominated for a cabinet position, so I guess he gets rewarded with this

Even shit heels have good policy sometimes, iirc Hitler was big into implementing laws against animal abuse and cruelty

Tomorrow: "Trump champions the metric system."

Damn, these brain worms walking around in bloated corpses might be the best administration ever.

I’d rather have permanent daylight saving here in SoCal, but in Arizona permanent standard time is great.

"one of the only countries in the world"?

Most of Europe, New Zealand, most of Canada, some of Australia, Chile & Egypt all observe DST of some form. Strange opening spin to the article.

But I agree it needs to be got rid of.

That's less than a third of the countries in the world.

Go for it. I’m sure it will go better than the last time they tried it.

If they do permanent Standard Time instead of Daylight Savings Time then it probably will go better.

Didn't some kid get hit by a car or something walking to school in the dark?

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

As a Canadian we have been wanting to get rid of it forever but politicians always say we need to wait for America to stop or it will cause issues.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 13 points 1 week ago

Yeah, good. Okay.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Canada has had a law on the books to end it for years now; the one outstanding condition was getting USA to go along with it.

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

Which personally I don't see why.

Saskatchewan and Yukon already don't do it, why. It other provinces? It's a literal hour on the clock, not a life and death situation.

Was thinking yesterday about some of the low-hanging fruit a governmental trifecta on the right could deliver to spam they got the average person "wins" while they deliver the real goods, ultrawealthy and corporate tax relief, and destruction of regulatory bodies and laws.

This was the first thing that came to mind, the second was trump will propose is getting rid of coins or even paper money and moving to crypto, one of course that he and his friends are already stocked up on.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

The elite would not let the crypto move happen. That would explode the economy.

Getting rid of DST

Another round of individual stimulus

Ban gas sales taxes

Ban all gun regulation

Create a jobs program for able bodied homeless people. (It's the farms, they're going to need replacements for the people they deport)

Send the IRS online tax program wide so everyone can use it.
