The frequency of recommended screenings can change based on family history. A heart scan and arterial ultrasound may not be recommended if you have no family history of heart disease and you have no indicators for it yourself. And with our shit health insurance industry you may not be able to get certain screenings paid for if your doctor isn't able to convince of their necessity, which having family history can help them do.

Knowing the medical history of you biological family is absolutely a big deal. A lot of risk factors that you might not be screening for early or frequently enough without knowing the history.

Most people think of the thing in less like the tank in a tankless water heater, rather than like less sodium in reduced sodium soy sauce.

Sweetwater is also having a giveaway of this impressive board, enter here.

We stopped by to see our beloved friend and guitar legend Zakk Wylde to talk about his pedalboard. Watch as Zakk showcases how his pedals sound.

“I like to keep it as simple as possible,” Zakk states about his relatively straightforward but highly effective rig. “Basically, it’s the same exact meat-and-potatoes setup I’ve been using ever since I did ‘Miracle Man’ with Ozzy. I enjoy trying out new things ’cause it’s fun, but these pedals definitely work for me, which is why they’ve been on my pedalboard beyond forever. They can take a severe beating and give me all the sonic ingredients I need to make my soup — be it a Black Label soup, an Ozzy soup, a Pantera Celebration soup, or an Experience Hendrix soup.”

Well iPad and iPhone did have the same OS at first, so they knew how to do that. I would have preferred when they forked iPad OS out for them to have converged desktop and iPad instead of making a 3rd distinct OS variant. I can't reasonably say that a docked iPad is the same as a Mac, as commercial apps I use have different versions, with different capabilities, for iPad and Mac. Things like Adobe Lightroom andIK Multimedia Amplitube. But my Surface Pro has one set of apps whether I'm docked at home, using a clamshell keyboard case, or as a tablet and pen. That's more useful to me than having a really well polished and dedicated tablet OS.

I'm thinking this is the opposite direction, with the enhanced desktop mode in Android 16. You hook your phone up to a KVM and get Chrome desktop, complete with containerized Linux apps and your mobile apps staying on your mobile device.

Apple doesn't exactly try to converge OS platform, even forking off iPad OS from iOS.

Microsoft's converged desktop and tablet OS hasn't been well regarded.

Google's efforts to make Android well suited on tablets has been poorly maintained.

I did find ChromeOS Flex on an old Surface Pro 3 to be a pretty good tablet experience. I'm cautiously optimistic about this, though I haven't tried the desktop mode on my Pixel 7.

Sameer Samat, president of Android ecosystem at Google, asked a TechRadar journalist why they were using an Apple Watch, iPhone, and MacBook:

I asked because we’re going to be combining Chrome OS and Android into a single platform, and I am very interested in how people are using their laptops these days and what they’re getting done.

Lincoln should have had every single one of them rounded up and shot after the war

Given that he was killed during Reconstruction, I'd put that on Andrew Johnson (a Southern Democrat) and the Congress.

I don't think I've ever really watched the channel but there's an vague air of familiarity. Have you mentioned them here before? Looks like an impressive collection. Brain trauma is no joke. Hope he's been able to find a happy normal since.

I also remember at least some scientists at the time arguing that climate change was a better term because people are particularly stupid about the term global warming when it paradoxically results in some places having a greater number of and more extreme cold events.

That's how I recall the term climate change coming into favor, too.

This guy! Baroness and the Juniors gave me a set of GraphTech Ratio tuners for the Epi 335 for Father's Day. Finally had a moment to install them. I didn't see the numbering on them until I was almost done installing them. So I had to look up the manual to see where they're supposed to go. They were all in the wrong spot.

Congratulations to the New England Free Jacks for their championship win. The only team in league history to win 3 championships. The only team in USA major sports to win 3 consecutive titles in over 20 years (according to the MLR posts).

I hadn't seen anything about this anywhere. Looks like it's the Bogner Electronics ST-Pro. A pre-wired pick-guard with a set of programmable pickups, selector, and volume/tone/mode knobs. My opinion was the Strat and Les Paul modes sounded closer to their respective originals than did the Tele or hollowbody modes.

Going for a 3-peat we have the Eastern Conference champs the New England Free Jacks for the home team, and making their first appearance in the finals are the Western Conference champs the Houston SaberCats for the away team.

The final will be at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Saturday, June 28th, at 2:00 PM EDT. Broadcast on ESPN2 and streamed live on ESPN+.

If you're there, check out the ML Fan Fest pre-game show at The Guild. Festivities being at 9:00 AM EDT with live DJ, food trucks, games, some Rugby 101 sessions, and merch booths.

The SaberCats propelled themselves into the Major League Rugby championship finals against the New England Free Jacks next Saturday in Rhode Island at Centreville Bank Stadium.

While the job isn’t finished, the Shield is attainable for the SaberCats after defeating Utah. One more win is what the SaberCats need to be champions for the first time in franchise history.

They’ve already become the most successful team in SaberCats history by winning their first two playoff matches over the past week.

Houston SaberCats have kept the streak alive with playoff wins against RFCLA and Utah Warriors to claim the Western Conference title.

Baroness got me the Two Kings kit from Stew Mac. Just finished inventory of the resistors, diodes, capacitors, etc. I'm not really sure how to measure diodes or capacitors with a multimeter. I don't even have a farad option on it.

With 28 of the 32 players being current MLR players, with every team except RFCLA represented, I'm excited to see how we fare.
