Community rules (click to expand)

1. Follow the site-wide rules

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack members of the community for any reason.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • These rules are somewhat loosened when the subject is a public figure. Still, do not attack their person or incite harrassment.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

Important: never execute code or follow advice that you don't understand or can't verify, especially here. The word of the day is credibility. [–] FrankTheHealer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Why is your kernel very old? What's your device?

    [–] rambaroo@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Android is always stuck on old kernels, even my pixel is still on 4

    [–] mihnt@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Pixel 7 Android 13 is kernel 5.10.157 though. Samsung is a whole version behind here.

    [–] Jmr@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

    My Samsung Z Fold4 is on 5.10.136

    Linux localhost 5.10.136-android12-9-26203352-abF936BXXS3CWF3 #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jun 26 06:02:52 UTC 2023 aarch6

The 7 is brand new though, my point is that Android gets locked to kernel versions which is why my 5a is still on 4 even though I'm running Android 13

my Samsung a52s (Android 13) is on 5.4.21
