There was a sequel! It's called Son of the Mask, and it's the worst movie I've ever seen. Like, it's worse than the Ghost Rider sequel.

After Dumb & Dumber Too came out and was worse than Dumb & Dumberer, despite having the OG writers and talent: I don't think I even want a sequel to The Mask even if it had Diaz and Carrey and the original writers.

I think she is taking a wise position there.
Her involvement is probably enough to get a project green lit but without Jim Carrey it would feel like a Son of Mask level cash grab.
