An rtx graphics card is the minimum, and it's not even for Ray tracing. What's happening with the gaming industry?

And expected to use DLSS on literally every preset lmfao

Bad optimization + aiming to maximize PS5/Xbox Series hardware capabalities.

The same thing that's been happening for the last decade or so - they throw all the money at marketing and marketable assets and then they try to shove the shit back into the horse with the pittance left over for everything else. Then they tell their customers it's a hardware issue when the game inevitably runs like triple ass on their PCs because nobody can afford a dev machine to play the damn thing.

Nvidia: announces DLSS to enable "4K" gaming

Gaming industry: requires DLSS to get cinematic frame rates on last-gen hardware.

Cant even play games on 60 fps 1080p low settings with previous gen hardware nowadays. Optimizing games? nahhhhh lets just use a upscaler instead and still wont even get 60.

hardware manufacturers and software manufacturers hand in hand - making you buy more stuff you really don't need

For games that are mediocre at best

Remedy does make sick game though. Have you played the original AW or Control? Those games bop

[–] SternburgExport@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Apparently yes. Back in January 2014 for 50 minutes according to Steam.

50 minutes is far from enough to write a piece like that off as "mediocre", my online friend. By 2014 standards it was technically impressive, the gameplay loop is fairly tight, and the game delivered a genuinely compelling story, twisting and changing the beloved "twin peaks" formula in a way, that is easily recognizable as a distinct "Remedy-way". As I was playing, figuring out themes, ideas and authorial intent was always clear and engaging. Maybe you just didn't like it - totally fine. You certainly do have a taste, I reckon, so some things are bound to fall out

I wish I could just download a GPU :(

Lol it's Alan Fucking Wake. You walk around a dark neighborhood with a flashlight while shadows chase you. Chill the fuck out, devs.

And they released it without a physical version for consoles and stated that’s because it helps them to keep the price higher. Big yikes.

Jesus christ that's an easy skip for me, not gonna buy a game where I can't run 1440p 144fps on a computer I built in like March.
