Looks like they might actually go after the posters. Thats concerning...

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
:::spoiler Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.
I'd say its just fearmongering, but yeah it looks bleak.
And now SubredditDrama post is locked. Wow.
They are scared of the same thing happening
Probably too many open calls for violence. Against a white dude. Dont think r/conservative will be blocked soon.
I mean I saw some posts advocating for turning DOGE employees into "pink mist" and going to visit them at their home. I don't see enough Reddit to know if it's a problem in other subs but the fact I saw those messages means they were getting good reach.
The mods usually remove those comments quickly enough, allthough most of them were just "the people doing this have addresses and names" phrased differently.
That's what they are saying, I was browsing it and sure the sentiment was spicey... But "open calls for violence" is hyperbolic.
This is censorship of public sentiment again. Same as they did with Luigi. This is the norm going forward. They don't like seeing people uniting around the idea that we don't care if parasites die... In fact we celebrate it!
lol
OOTL, what happened?
Elon musk complained (quoted an account totally not operated by him) about r/whitepeopletwitter (reddit equivalent of !whitepeopletwitter@lemmy.world) commenting stuff along the lines of "these people are doing a lot of shit for people who are flammable" and "these people have names and addresses". As usual, spez only did anything because a lot of people were complaining.
That's not even legally a threat lol
Just shit posters doing they thang haha
Was it a lot?
Not exactly,
A lot of people started calling for violence against Musk's cronies at DoGE.
I don't know if it was "a lot" or "basically all of them" though, /u/spez is a trumpet so who knows.
Faschism influence maybe.
Reddit is a Nazi site, so the usual happened.
Reddit alleged that mods were not removing comments calling for "violence"
I dont understand why people just buy this narrative as face value as ESP here lol
Lemmy.world mods consider anything favourable to luigi as call for violence...
Yeah. It's obvious that trolls and bad actors from far right subs and x are contributing to leftist subs being shut down
That's the thing... The most extreme view points are either bad faith actors or the feds.
Then mods or police can get involved. This is a classic set up.
I don't understand why adult people on here who act like this behavior is in good faith.
Any quality shit poster can express themselves in legal manner hence why Lemmy.world mods went from "inciting violence is illegal" to any support for luigi is a ban.
They don't care about legality, it is about supressing anti regime sentiments
The funny part is, the mods were removing comments like that, the sheer amount of them just made it hard to do so.
