In the arms of the angels...🎢

Unless they're on dot ml or dot world. In that case just make a new community.

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

What's wrong with . world?

[–] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 18 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Sometimes questionable policy decisions, combined with the desire to reduce centralization on .world.

This is like the third time LW tried to be front-and-center in deciding how conversations should happen on Lemmy. You are the most popular Lemmy instance and most content is on your instance. This isn’t an experimental safe space instance to dictate how social media should work. Please understand that any weirdly aggressive stances you take affects everyone.

Also, quite a few reports on !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Well, first off, way too many communities are already there. What's the point of coming to a federated service if we end up with most of it in the hands of the few admins again?

Secondly, well, if you're happy there I'll leave it at that.

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah but this meme refers to abandoned communities. I get creating new communities on other instances, but there's nothing wrong with adopting an abandoned community that is already there.

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Wholeheartedly disagree. If it abandoned and no one's posting then why revive? If it's active and unmoderated, sure.

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

No I agree with that. I'm thinking about active and unmoderated.

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

That makes sense. It's when there hasn't been a post or active mod in over a year where I think it's best to start over.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Or any of the Tankie Triad really (hexbear, grad and .ml)

Well soon to be Tankie Dyad since hex lost their domain name LMFAO

[–] burgersc12@mander.xyz 16 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

For just pennies a day you too can help a poor lemming find a home.

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 3 weeks ago

Happy cake day!

[–] DearMoogle 11 points 3 weeks ago

Oh no! The tear makes it so sad! πŸ™ˆ

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Alright someone give me one, but make it a cute one or I'm having it put down

[–] ekZepp@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Yeah, pretty hard to "give it some love by posting on it" with THIS fuckery:

[–] hmmm@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 weeks ago

It's a reddit repost bot repost community

[–] pseudo@jlai.lu 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

!animalwithhat died with its instance. I need it back (T_T)

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 3 weeks ago

!communitypromo@lemmy.ca to sΓ©e active communities that could use some help

[–] Dymonika@fedia.io 8 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Let's see these mods call for help or succession here, then; I've tried to contact multiple ones but never got any response.

[–] ekZepp@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago

~~As i~~ as this heart-warming ads says, you can directly contact the instance administrator and propose them to become the new mod.

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

They're probably not here.

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Vegans: β€œI agree with this message!”

Someone pointed out the other day that people want Lemmy to be like Reddit is today with the userbase Reddit had in its first years.

It's simply not sustainable. You're not going to have a sub for every possible topic with enough involved people to keep it going. Lemmy needs to accept that it can't just port over every niche sub from Reddit and expect it to work, you need to post it under more general topics first.

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Can I adopt the conservative comms from their abusive owners and put them down?

[–] ekZepp@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago
[–] pseudo@jlai.lu 5 points 3 weeks ago

!biohacking@mander.xyz et !openbio@lemmy.world could definitely benefit a bit of activity.

It’s easy when to post in other communities when Lemmy allows us to cross post.
