The cruelty is the point, and always has been.
The one minority group EVERYONE has a non-zero chance of joining, and the one minority group nobody wants to really think about for that exact reason.
They would rather spend money making hurdles for people like me, my brother, my sister, my aunt, and millions of others to bash against until we give up than to spend that same money and time Helping.
Many Germans did not want to be reminded of individuals who did not measure up to their concept of a "master race" and were considered "unfit" or "handicapped." People with physical and mental disabilities were viewed as "useless" to society, a threat to Aryan genetic purity, and, ultimately, "unworthy of life." At the beginning of World War II, individuals with mental or physical disabilities were targeted for murder in what the Nazis called the "T-4," or "euthanasia," program.

Yes, free speech is always offensive to someone. That is called accepting the social contract of a free society.
So are the social consequences of speech.
