How do map updates work? (self.organicmaps)

How often does Organic Maps pull map updates from OpenStreetMap? Can I manually trigger the update or do I have to wait? Does the update happen automatically or do I have to delete the current map data I have and then redownload it?

When organic maps app updates, the downloads section gets updated to point to a newer open street map download. You update the map manually. There will be an icon to notify you

Organic Maps tends to update every month and they package their own version of the map data into the app.
