Be sure to follow the rule before you head out.

Rule: You must post before you leave.

Behavior rules:

Posting rules:

NSFW: NSFW content is permitted but it must be tagged and have content warnings. Anything that doesn't adhere to this will be removed. Content warnings should be added like: [penis], [explicit description of sex]. Non-sexualized breasts of any gender are not considered inappropriate and therefore do not need to be blurred/tagged.

MODERATORS

Heads up, We are mostly moving this community over to Lemmy.world. If you're wondering where most of the funny went, go to !196@lemmy.world! If you're wondering why we did this, click here.

==please incorporate the word rule in your post titles==
Here are the things that get you banned:
-saying anything remotely iffy with a lemmygrad or hexbear account
-tankie behaviour
-nazi behaviour
-authoritarian behaviour
-genocide denial
-prejudice of any kind
-anything else that is clearly bad

Things that get your post/comment removed:
-AI generated content
-anything in the banlist
-posts that are so off topic that they don't fit on 196 at all
-moldy memes (old memes, crusty memes, irrelevant memes. The type of things you'd see on your aunt's Facebook page or Elon musk's Twitter account with a laughing emoji as the caption)
-corpoposting

Ban length varies, and is mostly based off of whether or not I think you will change your behavior. I have baned certain people for upwards of 2000 days.

---------EDIT:NSFW RULES---------
NSFW Content is now fully permitted BUT it must be tagged. Any NSFW content that has not been tagged and blurred will be removed. Content warnings should also be added to the title in brackets. Example: [penis] or: [explicit description of sex].
Non-sexualized breasts of any gender are not considered inappropriate and therefore do not need to be blurred/tagged. Yes, even female breasts.

IRL GORE IS NOT PERMITTED UNDER ANY CONDITION.

JAN 2025 UPDATE: One Hundred Ninety Six
Following our mishandling of the lemmy.world migration, a group of dissenting users founded onehundredninteysix, here on lemmy.blahaj.zone. We are not affiliated with this group. Please direct any complaints related to that community to their mod team and/or Ada.

If you have any issues, please reach us at 196mods@protonmail.com. PLEASE do not dm me, as I am not consistently available and tend to step away from the mantle for weeks to months at a time.

Why do you have mods who have advanced the claim that Jews deserved the Holocaust because "Communism is just as genocidal as Naziism" and it's really a tit-for-tat?

How does one get flair here?

Also, because I'm bad at image-memeing, blåhaj sounds like what you do when you've had a few and a cop pulls you over.

How tf do you upload images on mobile? I’m on iOS, I’ve tried Firefox and chrome and get errors on both when trying to upload

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 years ago (4 children)

The system is having serious issues right now, the website seems to be fully booked. I recommend just using the jerboa app on your phone for now.

Are words like 'stupid' and 'crazy' considered slurs here

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 years ago (4 children)

No?? Can't think of any context in which they would be

[–] SamFlowers@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

There are some communities that consider them to be slurs against neurodivergent people. There's definitely an argument to be made there but at the same time they're so commonly used to refer to neurotypical people as well that it's also easy to argue that they don't do enough harm to be considered slurs.

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 years ago (6 children)

bruh idiot hasn't been a slur since the 1800s what are those mods from fucking bloodborne or smth

That's good

I was on Raddle and they treat those words like they're equivalent to the r-slur, so it's good to have a Reddit alternative with at least a shred of sanity

Not part of the community here just see you guys in All a lot, what is the reasoning behind having the word rule in all your posts? Just curious.

[–] pantlesspatrick@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Rule: you must post before you leave

[–] 257m@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Maybe I'm stupid but I still don't understand.

[–] wildebeesties@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

You’re supposed to post before you leave (however you interpret that). I think they’re saying “Rule” in their posts to show they’re posting to follow that rule. That’s my interpretation anyway- only been here like a week and trying to figure out Lemmy

Hi, may I please repost this as a reply within this comment section but with slightly different formatting for the sake of readability?

I've updated the rules to ban AI generated content

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 years ago

I've updated the rules to add moldy Mondays

[–] MisterFrog@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Because of the Reddit migration, 196 is coming up in my Lemmy feed a lot, I have no idea what it is (because you haven't made a description).

This could be your chance to gain more community members if you update your description

[–] Silverstrings@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Well sort of the point of 196 is that you can post almost anything, the only rule is that you have to post each time before leaving. This rule isn't enforced for obvious reasons, unlike the ban against tankies.

before leaving as in before switching to another community while browsing? or as in when you unsubscribe? and what if I never leave
