The Salmon Fire started Sunday outside Oakridge. It's not an Oregon summer in the 2020's unless Oakridge is on fire . ๐Ÿ˜ž

If folks haven't already Watch Duty has been an invaluable app navigating roads/areas, and for general information.

How does anyone still live there at this point? Last year's fires were absolutely brutal on air quality there for like a month solid.

Planning note to live here soon enough.

Clarifying: moving.

I'm really sorry you need to, but considering how bad it's been, it's totally reasonable. People can't live like that long-term.

We all are going to have to live like this long term. In 50 years there won't be any forests, they'll be reduced to deserts or low scrub. Oregon is the new Arizona.

Apparently the air is so bad that even KRVM is reporting air quality warnings. That's a great station (oldest on the west coast) that normally sticks to music only format.
