I'd like to know what the soldiers in our military would actually do if they were deployed in Greenland or Canada with the orders of taking over. You gonna shoot our fucking friends?

I'm prior military and at one time I would have said they would refuse but today I'm not so sure. :/

I’m also prior military. I suspect fragging will increase until moral decreases.

If they start drafting folks then definitely but I'm not sure it would be a widespread phenomenon before that

Trust me, this is how the average Russian felt about Ukraine 10 years ago (or even 3 years ago).

The answer is that soldiers follow orders, ones who don't, also don't last long in the military

Historically yes, that's what would happen. Most recently when the invasion in Ukraine started and Russians attacked their neighbors. It doesn't take much time of fighting and it becomes them vs us. It was always fascinating to me how this stuff can be turned on and off by a single phone call. A flip of a switch.

There are a lot of good Americans in our armed forces.

Unfortunately, there are also a lot of trash too.

So yeah, I think some units might hesitate, while others would laugh gleefully at the chance to kill 'elitist europeans' or whoever they can.

This is basically a video game to them, the only difference is they're not 2 joints in on their couch in Tennessee.

at some point, I learned about one classic Canadian cocktail, Moose Milk: 50/50 sweetened condensed milk and overproof rum

Jesus christ. I haven't heard of that, and now I'm afraid.
