there are four methods of skinning typically used in taxidermy:
case: an incision down the hind legs, skin pulled down the body like a sock
dorsal: an incision down the back
ventral: an incision down the belly, from chest to groin
rug: an incision down the belly and and limbs, so it lays flat
That said, of course, you can skin something however you want as long as you get the skin off it's skinned so technically infinite.
