Two bunnies look at a friendly snake in the yard. The snake hisses and looks back at them. It is a red, white and black striped snake, meaning that it could be poisonous depending on what order the stripes are in. The bunnies can't tell.

Folksy wisdom-couplets are a viable method of knowledge, but I don't remember this one. King vs coral snakes if I recall.
