I get it, but they definitely can. Trump's team is protected but not bound by the law, and they are going to stress test both parts of that statement.

Mmm... yes, you're likely right.

I used to quote Lily Tomlin's 'No matter how cynical you become, it's never enough to keep up" as a sort of scoffing, exaggerated-for-effect take on things.

Even as cynical as I am, I never really expected it to become a literally accurate representation of day-to-day reality.
