For me, 70% of the time this is usually just "you need to practice to get okay at it". Effort.

The other 25% is buying expensive equipment/accessories, and the last 5% is finding out that the communities around the hobby are so cringe you don't want to be known as part of it.

Yea I've been learning blender off and on, definitely one where I spend an hour learning, finally start working, then run into a roadblock and give up for a month

I may return someday, but learning a new skill is a struggling for me, and the adhd doesn't help either

It's definitely a struggle, I have ADHD too. It helps to have something you want to make, and slowly push through to make it. I've been working on a short animated thing to learn, and the drive to finish it is what keeps me coming back
