What do you all think of this?

Video is only 6 minutes and 44 seconds long.

Project is called "Mouseless" and seems to be a keyboard mod.

It’s not a keyboard mod, it’s Mac software that does something that’s already freely available and open source in Hammerspoon. I’ve seen that dude acting like his project is some crazy new thing, but he just ignored the already existing software that does his thing and much more.

That's interesting to know! Open source is the way to go where we can.

I do like using (~~proprietary sadly~~ edit: see below) AutoHotkey on the Windows machine at work, aaaand thanks to learning about Hammerspoon I've been bitten with the itch to do this on Linux at home! :)

Edit... waaaait AHK is open-source?! Nice :) I'll do some digging after work! :)

Hammerspoon is open source macOS software that allows you to control your computer in pretty much any way you can imagine.

AutoHotKey is the standard for windows.

I have been burned one too many time. I will not get accustomed to things that can be leveraged against me, thing that can backslide.

"look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power" meme but with Vim (or really this is a rare case where I have to hand it to emacs since it can basically run a whole OS)

Vim and emacs are the two most popular keyboard-driven text editors, and are something of a meme in the software world.

Really a better analogue would be tiling window managers like sway, i3, bspwm, dwm etc. but they're also harder to get started with.

Seems like highly specialised and complicated soft for typing demons. For anyone who is not one, it would be detrimental.

Fair point.
