In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.

Some Rules

Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
Don't promote proprietary software
Try to keep things on topic
If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience
Be nice :)

Example, WhatsApp, use the whole 25 character profile name limit:

Bob Moved To Signal.org
Alice MovedTo Signal.org
CharlieMovedTo Signal.org

Say Signal.org, not Signal, so they see it is an app.

Use your about section too.

Same on Discord, Steam, Instagram, everywhere.

Also, I shortened it to just "[Name] is on Signal.org". People get the same idea, and it saves some space for long names and/or is more often read as it is shorter :)

I wish what's app wasnt so ingrained in my social circle. It would take so much effort to have everyone migrate to a new app. I feel trapped bros

You don't need everyone. Just start somewhere. Start now.

To be ingrained, it had to get ingrained but you can do that too!

Pick two friends and make a group chat. Others will feel left out and want to join. It only gets easier.
