“A task force”

I knew Daredevil Born Again was going to touch on some of the same issues, but holy crap it predicted the future.

Is it illegal to Nelson laugh while pointing at swasticar enjoyers and calling them dorks?

No? Then this is all a waste of time. I shall continue doing so unabated.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 56 minutes ago

These days you don't need to be committing a crime to get arrested. You just need to be annoying the wrong people.

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 23 points 7 hours ago

Good! We're FINALLY Solving REAL PROBLEMS!

-This is LITERALLY What Conservatives think while CHILDREN ARE GUNNED DOWN IN SCHOOL, SHELVES ARE EMPTY OF GOODS, 401KS TANK AND ICE IS ALLOWED TO ENTER HOMES AND DEPORT PEOPLE WITHOUT WARRANTS OR CAUSE!

[–] painfulasterisk1@lemmy.ml 25 points 9 hours ago

I thought Elon was behind this since Tesla's aren't selling well. They should start from there.

[–] b161@lemmy.blahaj.zone 107 points 12 hours ago

The police are there to protect the business interests of the richest man in the world.

They call regular people “terrorists” for daring to stand up to fascism in any small way.

They start a manhunt for the murder of the CEO of a health insurance company while ignoring the murders of countless regular people every day.

Private property is protected, while it’s been made illegal to be homeless.

What a sick and decrepit society.

There’s a website to track elons plane.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 3 points 54 minutes ago* (last edited 53 minutes ago) (1 children)

What he gets really irritated about is the fact that you have to file a flight plan and that flight plan has to be public, because obviously otherwise it wouldn't work.

So anyone at any time can track his plane, and no matter how rich he is, there is fuck all he can do about it

[–] Saleh@feddit.org 1 points 18 minutes ago

He could just take another form of transportation. There is no public records of cars driven or train tickets purchased.

He could even fly with normal airlines so there would be no public record of his flight.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 168 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

That seems like a huge inefficiency, DOGE should eliminate it.

Uh oh, it sounds like they want us to be inclusive of all cars.

[–] dan69@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

Why aren’t news outlets picking this up..

The domestic terrorist is in the White House.

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 39 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Don't be ridiculous. As the Commander in Chief of the United States he's also an international terrorist

[–] pupbiru@aussie.zone 1 points 28 minutes ago

“both foreign and domestic” i guess is the repurposed phrase aye?

But is he actually in the White House? I've seen a lot of pictures of him golfing...

This really does illustrate the idea that police aren’t there to “serve and protect.” They are there to keep the common people in line so that the rich can stay safe.

[–] MrVilliam@lemm.ee 60 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Mask off moment. Their purpose is to protect capital. The only crimes that cops prevent are through deterrence because they are crime punishers, not crime preventers.

[–] LilB0kChoy@lemm.ee 7 points 11 hours ago

they are crime punishers, not crime preventers.

This isn’t unique to the US. It is called law enforcement so even if it wasn’t a completely broken and horseshit system crime prevention would not be part of their purview.

You prevent/reduce crime by addressing the underlying societal issues that are contributing to it.

Different article, but the picture just makes me so happy:

we didn't start the fire

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

How thin does that metal paneling have to be to wilt due to brief exposure to fire?

The Cybertruck makes vinyl home siding look more durable.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 1 points 37 minutes ago

vinyl home siding

TIL that's a thing. Eww.

[–] CommissarVulpin@lemmy.world 30 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

If you set it on fire it makes a rainbow. There’s something profound in that.

[–] fnrir@lemmy.blahaj.zone 17 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Republicans doing things to stop people from destroying cars but not children in schools. “Family values” party.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 12 points 12 hours ago

If Republicans could feel shame* I’m sure they’d be very upset.

Anti-Tesler Terrorism.

Thoughts and Prayers.

[–] Ebby@lemmy.ssba.com 51 points 14 hours ago (8 children)

Terrorism is scaring/harming people to manipulate government.

Tesla is neither government nor their property damage is scaring people.

More trumped-up charges.

(It is hilariously fitting Trump the man and Trump the word fit so gand-in-hand)

[–] pupbiru@aussie.zone 1 points 22 minutes ago* (last edited 16 minutes ago)

this is meant to be read without the emotional loading to the words that we’ve been conditioned with: ie X is implicitly bad… these are just words, whose meaning has more depth than what they actually define

terrorism is

the use of violence against non-combatants to achieve political or ideological aims

violence is

an act of physical force that causes or is intended to cause harm

arson is violence

and this particular act of violence is intended to achieve political or ideological aims (musk is a political figure albeit not an official government employee, and this is in response to his public political acts)

now, i’d argue it’s not “against non-combatants”, but perhaps it is? is destruction of a persons property constitute violence against them? it’s at least psychological - trying to scare/influence for sure

let’s not kid ourselves though: it is what it is… it’s just ridiculous that this is what they pursue while pardoning jan 6 offenders… the issue isn’t that they’re labelling this domestic terrorism. the issue is that it’s singled out because fElon asked daddy dictator

[–] northendtrooper@lemmy.ca 21 points 14 hours ago

Arson, its just arson.
