Beehaw's community for socialists, communists, anarchists, and non-authoritarian leftists (this means anti-capitalists) of all stripes. A place for all leftist and labor news and discussion, as long as you're nice about it.

Non-socialists are welcome to come to learn, though it's hard to get to in-depth discussions if the community is constantly fighting over the basics. We ask that non-socialists please be respectful and try not to turn this into a "left vs right" debate forum by asking leading questions or by trying to draw others into a fight.

At the height of George W. Bush’s War on Terror, Jimmy Carter had the courage to call out Israel for its human rights abuses. What’s stopping Democrats from doing the same now?

Jimmy Carter also got notably abandoned by his own Democratic party during his re-election campaign

When you dont need to care for elections anymore, you get less punishment for what you say.

Think similar to Mccain during 2008 campaign vs after campain

Hes a democrat, they are all neo-lib and are more right of center then the left Jimmy

This is a stupid question. Because by and large damn near every democrat would lose their next election. Independents are desperately needed, and a large swath of independents still support israel and will fall for the "You're antisemitic if you criticize israel" bullshit.

American support for palestine is way more present than support for palestine among our representatives and our media.

It's also really hard to support a group whose opening sally was parading around the body of a dead innocent on the back of a truck.

There shouldn't be any support for either political side here. Neither is morally superior. The only people deserving support are the poor citizens getting punished for their bloodthirsty leaders. Atrocities should never be supported, no matter the justifications.
