Holly shit. This meme has been sent and resent between me and my friends for over 10 years and none of us has ever noticed the notch.
I'm super curious to know what contexts you send this meme. Is it just something funny that one of you remembers occasionally and sends? Or does it have a specific meaning like "sorry can't come have to work"?

honest question: who shares a meme for a decade? why? what's the inside joke? what's it like to have "friends"?
Can you explain what the significance of the notch is?
On the left side of the comic, the desk would be visible in the bottom of the frame if the desk weren't cut out. On the right side you can see that it is indeed cut out under the frame, as not to block the view of the people
Kid in the frame raising his right arm, impostor on the ground raising his left. Hmmm.
I thought the same, though it still seems possible he's raising both arms and we're only seeing one from each angle.
