To be fair this kind of "thinking" goes all the way back to the Bolsheviks convincing themselves they're the party of the proletariat even as they brought back bourgeoi management of factories and busted strikes. They're just following in the footsteps of their great leaders.

Yeah, it's a play on the fact that modern day China and its "socialist qualities" that ML's use to claim the country is socialist are remarkably similar if not identical to how fascist Italy worked.
