Excellent guess, but that scene takes place at night.
In this scene Santa's Little Helper is with different members of the family.
Ah damn, I've got nothing. There's the Stampee one, the puppies one, the homeless one I think? There is the homeless one where Bart takes him with him. Doesn't he? Nah. I think he's actually solo in that one. Idk, but I wish I knew.
Those are all excellent guesses, but not this episode. I would say this episode features Santa's Little Helper only for a short scene. He's perhaps not the best behaved in this scene.

I wish I could remember, I actually thought about it all day. It's been too long since I have seen these guys but it really was stuck IN my head. It broke me =P
