What does madrikh mean and is there a source for this claim?
Seems to mean something like "guide".
My phones translator translates it as guide in English, Finnish and Swedish and from all those three the same so I'd say it with some certainty it's more or less correct.
Googling gives "Madrikh" (מְדְרִיך) is a Hebrew word meaning "guide" or "leader". It can also refer to a specific program or role within Jewish communities, like a Jewish professional who guides and serves their community."
Here's a somewhat reliable seeming source talking about it
