About
Biodiversity is a term used to describe the enormous variety of life on Earth. It can be used more specifically to refer to all of the species in one region or ecosystem. Biodiversity refers to every living thing, including plants, bacteria, animals, and humans. Scientists have estimated that there are around 8.7 million species of plants and animals in existence. However, only around 1.2 million species have been identified and described so far, most of which are insects. This means that millions of other organisms remain a complete mystery.
Over generations, all of the species that are currently alive today have evolved unique traits that make them distinct from other species. These differences are what scientists use to tell one species from another. Organisms that have evolved to be so different from one another that they can no longer reproduce with each other are considered different species. MODERATORS
It is already hell for countless living creatures, including humans; some of us are just too privileged to care since its easier to just ignore given the option.
Maybe so, maybe no. It's not predetermined.
It's what we do now that will shape the future. I mean, we the people. We cannot rely on governments or corporations to do the right thing without us forcing them to. By now, we know this.
So, I believe that conversations about solutions are more fruitful than deterministic statements, no matter how highly upvoted these statements are.
What's the point of this comment? Do you feel better having made it?
PS: Sometimes I'm mystified by humanity. The votes don't lie. People actually enjoy reading empty doomsterism. Maybe some of you are even subscribed here to get your daily fix. Call me crazy but personally I find there's quite enough doom in life as it is and when I come here I'd prefer to read comments that actually add some value and even (gasp!) suggest solutions.

Much has been learned about heat-resistant corals in the last decade. Village by village and beach by beach, reef restoration is progressing.
