Bitcoin Core (BTC) has been hijacked to prevent it from competing with fiat. That is why transactions are slow, expensive, and unreliable.
Some people tried to hopelessly push back against this but the Core devs decide what goes in and no one else.

purist opposition to this push is to keep it that way. instead of nft/meme coins it could enhance layer 2 stuff.
You need to have a fully functional layer 1 before you even think about layer 2. BTC is a lost cause.
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has instant reliable and cheap transactions on layer 1 and it has smart contracts which allows for NFT/memecoins.
This is because it follows the original vision of bitcoin, which can do everything all other coins do and maintain proper decentralization if engineered properly.
This guy does not belong in the bitcoin code. He should just start a new coin, and Mara can mine it.
Such a bad idea.
