This looks like a community that has not yet started except for somebody who pumps memes and news stories...

Why do anti-work would mean marxist or leninist? What has to do with them at all? They where both very much pro-work if i recall properly, but a differently organized way of working than the US way.

I am from a EU country, much more socialist than US, and still feel anti-work has good points, so...

It's probably a mix of many different views, but there's probably a lot of Marxist leninists here. Me included.

Very few people are totally against working in general, it's more that they're against the current system of work/employment.

Marxism is in large a criticism of the employer employees relation. Or capitalist proletariat relation as it would be called in marxist terms. The critique is in in short terms pointing out the the fact that the workers themselves don't own the means of production, and has to sell their labour to a capitalist, whom in turn takes the surplus value (created by the workers) for himself.

I can't possibly write all Marxist theory on the topic here, but if it seems interesting, I would recommend reading up on it, or watching videos by well informed creators. Hakim (@yaboihakim on YouTube) is a great source of information on Marxism. And the communist manifest by Karl Marx is a very short and easily available book that has a great introduction to communism.

Hope this helps. And im happy to answer if you got more questions!

Agreed, make sense... I dont think i will look it up tough, but thats just me and one day i will most probably.

Anyway we need more personal stories and discussione here, like it was on the other site.

Antiwork is generally considered a postmarxist or anarchist ideology. MLs could identify with the core concepts of course, but places like the Soviet Union or China still catch the ire of antiwork theorists.

That's literally it: "Listen, fat" and the glorious face of Supreme Leader Biden lol

Just look at him, he's beautiful

The original Reddit antiwork community had a few Marxists, IIRC, but that's were not they majority at all.

It could only be so if it was hijacked by tankies... which, unfortunately, seems quite likely here on lemmy.ml.

[–] CyberGhost@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What do you have against tankies?

[–] masquenox@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Gee... what could I possibly have against grifters that want to twist the concept of socialism into "whatever Dear Brother Leader says it is"?

[–] 5ublimation@hexbear.net 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What if we seized the state's monopoly on violence and did nothing with it? clueless

[–] CyberGhost@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago

It doesn’t show the entire sentence

[–] CyberGhost@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Tankies want to want socialism by action. Non-tankies just talk about it, sit and wait

[–] masquenox@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Tankies want to want socialism by action.

No. They don't. They want to be a new political elite - and that's it.

[–] CyberGhost@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Can please cite your sources?

[–] masquenox@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

You need sources for this?

There is absolutely no amount of theory that could make the "self-withering state" a reality. It's about as plausible as the second coming of Jesus Christ - and pretty much serves the same purpose, too.

Isn't it a bit fascist to force us into your own political opinion? What would Marx think about that?

[–] CyberGhost@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago

You dont know what fascism is, do you? Marx would be proud of the dictatorship of the proletariat! Capitalist dont get any saying.
