Ah yes, I remember Obama getting impeached for bombing Syria.
And for that matter, Trump getting impeached for killing Soleimani, the leader of Iran, while he was in Iraq.
Soleimani was the commander of the Quds Force, a division of the Iranian military and high-ranking official but he wasn't the leader of Iran.
not with the house in the hands of republicans.
Best hope there is enough democracy left in the US to swing it back to the Dems in 2026.
And even then, without a comfortable majority for the Dems in the senate it will just be another impeachment to add to the pile, no conviction.

Dont get your hopes up. The democrats have yet to show any ability to regain seats. they'll likely just swing harder towards Cheney and get rocked again.

We haven't declared war since WW2. Everything has been AUMF, which can be done within 60 days retroactively. As always, the government is checks and balances, so if Congress refuses to exercise its powers and let the executive do whatever, it's a moot point.
I think it'd only lead to impeachment if Congress wants us gone within 60 days and Trump refuses, continues without an AUMF, and then Congress actually had the balls to push back at that point.
But if someone is more familiar with the legal processes involved here, please do correct me or add to this.

The problems, the House and Senate are controlled by the Russian supporting MAGA clowns. I believe Mango Mussolini has a 60 day window before he needs to end the military engagement against Iran. For the moment, a drunk, a felon and Signal App are controlling the US military.
